Bike-Riding Groper Targets Women Near Nike Headquarters

BEAVERTON, OR - Sheriff's deputies are asking for the public's help in finding a bike-riding groper who grabbed four women from behind as they walked or jogged around the Nike World Headquarters.
Washington County deputies said the four incidents happened over the course of a one-month span between June 14 and July 13.
In every case, a man on a bicycle rode up to a woman, grabbed her buttocks and then continued to ride past at a normal speed, deputies said. He didn't speed up and didn't look back, according to the Sheriff's Office.
"Clearly, that's unwanted contact and you can't just go around doing that," said Erin Tannock, who was using the jogging trails around Nike on Tuesday. "Who knows where it's going to go? Hopefully, it wouldn't go any further than that, but it's enough to get you thinking, that's for sure."
The first report came in from Nike security June 14 at about 11 p.m. A 43-year-old woman described the man as Hispanic, 20 to 30 years old and clean-shaven. He wore a white hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, she said.
The second incident happened July 12 at about 3:15 p.m. near Southwest Walton Street and Meadow Drive. The 54-year-old victim told deputies she was slapped on her buttocks while she was pushing a stroller. She described the man as Hispanic and wearing a white hooded sweatshirt. She also said he had short, black hair with gel in it and was of medium height with a thin build.
The next day, a 37-year-old woman pushing a stroller around the Nike campus reported a similar incident. She told deputies that the man wore a gray hooded sweatshirt and rode a BMX bicycle. She said he also had a silver bracelet on his left wrist.
A few hours later that day, a 26-year-old woman jogging around a trail on the Nike campus again reported a man grabbing her buttocks. She said she thought the man could be white or Hispanic and had dark hair.
"It does make you kind of uncomfortable and (it's) intimidating if you have something like that happen to you," said Monica Navarro, another runner who was using the jogging trails Tuesday.
Anyone with information on the man's identity is asked to call the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
